0 CABBAGE PORIYAL

Colorful Cabbage poriyal/porial/stir fry/sabji/kaayi


Cabbage - 1/2
Carrot - 1 small
Peas - very few
Beans - 5 or 6
Onion - 1 small chopped fine
Green chillies - 3 slit or cut finely
Ginger - a small piece
Curry Leaves - few
Mustard seeds, urad dhal, channa dhal - very little


Use carrot,peas and/or beans for a very good colour combination with cabbage. Will look very colorful. Chop cabbage,carrot and beans very thinly...wash and just sprinkle very little water and cook till soft but firm..can also cook in a microwave for 8 minutes...remove and keep aside.


Heat oil in a kadai/pan and add mustard seeds + urad dhal + channa dhal...when they splutter add onions, green chillies slit and ginger finely chopped...fry till transparent...add salt and the cooked vegetables ...mix and remove from stove.
