0 PORI/MURMURA UPMA

Pori/Puffed Rice/ Murmura or Mamra/ Borugula Upma(uppittu/uppindi)


Pori/puffed rice/murmura - 3 cups
Onion - 1 medium chopped fine
Green chillies - 2 or 3 chopped fine
Curry leaves - few
Cilantro - few chopped
Turmeric powder - 2 or 3 pinch
Salt as needed
Oil - 1tbsp
Mustard seeds - few
Urad dhal - few
channa dhal - few
Peanuts - few

 


Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds + urad dhal + channa dhal + peanuts....when they splutter add onions,curry leaves and green chillies and fry till brown...next add salt,chopped cilantro leaves and turmeric powder....immediately add pori( just before adding take pori in a vessel and add water... immediately drain out). Just mix and eat ...This upma tastes good when hot or eat it within 10 minutes from preparaing otherwise the puffed rice shrink very much in size.
